A Kansas native, I found my academic footing at McPherson College, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Communication while competing on the cross-country and track teams. After graduating, I pursued a legal education at the University of Kansas School of Law. Since 2011, I have been actively involved with photography, and my husband and I merged our businesses when we met, creating Selby Films and Photos.

My family and I relocated to Nevada, Missouri, in May 2021, where I quickly became immersed in the community. I am honored to serve as a member of the Nevada City Council and am actively involved in P.E.O. and Rotary. You might also catch me at our local YMCA, where I coach Osage Athletes and Silver Sneaker classes.
